On tap at City Beer Store. Extra-hazy orange-brown color, aroma of banana, citrus, huge tangerine. Thick, chewy mouthfeel that leaves your tongue tingling for 10-15 seconds. Lots of pine, rye in the taste -- a massive beer bordering on affrontive. Don’t drink this warm unless you’re ready for some puckering. Fucking awesome.

Tap at Drake’s Friday tasting on 9/20/07. Pours wiht a copper color. Aromas are mainly hops with some caramel and toffee as well as dark fruit. Very hoppy with a long bitter finish but some malt sweetness to offset the massive hops. Very well balanced. Hides the alcohol really well, it was listed as 10%.

Hand-bottle sampled on 7/2/06: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a thin-lacing, wispy white head. Aroma of sweet, grainy caramel malt and fresh green citrusy hops. Body starts with some lightly sweet pale maltiness turning more bitter and grapefruity floral hoppy toward a drier bittersweet finish. Doesn’t quite have the hop profile I like in a double IPA, but is still a pretty decent brew.

On tap poured copper in color with a nice off white head. The aroma was full of citrusy hops with some small caramel notes. The taste had some bitterness, but balanced well with the amount of alcohol. A nice treat to find, if you can find it.

GABF 2006. Bronze body with a small off-white head. Nose is hoppy with citrus notes and light pineapple. Light caramel and evergreen notes round out the aroma. Taste is more citrus fruits, lighter pineapple, some sticky pine or pine sap, and light caramel. Body is medium-full and has a light carbonation to it. Some alcohol makes itself present during the finish along with more citrus, pine, and light caramel.

Tap, Toronado. Brownish/amber coloring on the pour. Sweet candy aroma along with alot of bitter pine. Flavor is very thick and syrupy citric hoppiness with a firm malt backbone.

GABF 2006. Pours to a hazy caramel colored body with excellent lacing and lightly off-white head. The aroma is nutty and hoppy with peanuts and hazelnuts with bright lemons and grapefruit. Some perfume too. The flavor is citrusy, nice cereal and barley, lemons, grapefruit, light nuts. Smooth, lightly resiny palate, medium bodied and creamy.
