sweet maltiness. I fine brew that saved me from a night of shitty Euro brews at my buddies party.Lucky I brought it. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA

Has a nice thin head, medium amounts of lacing. Smells like a hop bomb. Tastes perfectly west coast with lots of cascade hops. This is like an amber IPA. Really good. Big sweet hoppy aroma. Some roasted maltiness. Very hoppy bitterness right up front. Syrupy citric hoppy flavor. Very bitter finish. Big, bold hoppy amber. My pack was 6.5%. realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA

Aromas of roasted malts and hops. Nice and bitter up front with a plesant blend of malts, reminds me of an Indian Brown. FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2006 12oz. bottle. Light brown-red with a small offwhite head. Pine, candied citrus hop aromatics, underpinnings of biscuity malt. Caramel and mild nutty, toasty malt falvors meld with a deep piney and mildly acidic citrus fruit hop character. Residual ruddy malt flavors in the finish, with a lingering mild resinousness. Mouthfeel is a lighter medium, somewhat sticky. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA

I can honestly say it is a very distinct brew--something you won’t find everyday. The pour on this one is nice--a deep reddish amber color. The head was nice as well. The mouthfeel on this one was good, but I think could use some improvement--just slightly thin for my tastes. The flavor here is very interesting. A great balance of roasted malts/oak with the citrus hops in the background. I like the fact that the hops don’t dominate this brew as they do in so many beers that try to feature a hop taste. You get your hops alright--and they are very good--but they don’t overrun the taste. A very fine product from a company that I’m eager to keep trying."
