| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Hazy dark amber colour. Toasty malts with big woody hops, hint of citrus. Rich heavy woody hops, toasty, caramelly malts...it’s a thick wall of earthiness. Big body, as ambers go. The thing is, a dark IPA can be a wonderful brew but only if there’s a sense of purpose to the way the malt character and hop character are combined. hopdog (5602), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a deep and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, oranges, and a little earthy. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and toffee. For an amber ale, I really liked this one. bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

Earthy dark malty aroma has some fresh piny hoppy notes. Body starts with a dark caramely malty sweetness, some earthy piny bittering hops, and a smooth bittersweet caramel candy finish. A nice amber ale.
