I dont know how a beer that only has 48 bottles in existence gets all the way across the country. Pours dark brown with a light head. Aroma was hoppy as crap. Very piney and maybe a little floral. Flavor was pretty hoppy and piney as well. Maybe a slight roastiness. Kind of disapointed the flavor was weaker than the aroma. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA

Brown with no head. The palate was medium to full for the style. Full malt with a nice hop kick in the end. Very interesting brown ale for sure. Big thanks to Stoutlover72 for getting this out of California to the rest of us. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

Brown with an off white head. Aroma, piny, some caramel. Flavor, rich malts up front with a solid hop kick on the finish. Not quite as hoppy as the flavor would lead you to believe but it’s pretty solid. LeopoldStoch (201), Green, Ohio, USA

HUGE hop aroma! A muddled dark brown pour with not much head to speak of. The flavors were very smooth and almost none of the hop smell comes through in the flavors. It really tasted like more of a nice brown ale, but the smell would rival some top notch double ipas. Very strange combination, but works really well. The name hoppy ass brown really holds true for this beer. BeerVirgin72 (814), Pataskala, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Sampled at Columbus tasting. Dark brown, some lacing, small head. Very strong smell, Pine, some coffee. Malty and hoppy, but not real bitter. I liked it for a darker beer due to the less bitter finish. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Appears a hazy brown with a small, light tan head that fades into a tiny collar. Spotty lacing is left all around the glass.
Smell is hoppy up front with citrus and pine, along with brown sugar, caramel, and cocoa with a touch of dusty graininess.
Taste is of the aromas with a decent mix of sugary malts and hoppy, bitter citrus.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, highlighted with bitter, citrusy hops, and a dry finish.
