On tap at the Freakin Frog. Poured a medium and cloudy brownish color wth a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, floral hops, rye, and earthy. Tastes of caramel, rye, floral, and citrus. Light to medium alcohol in the finish. On the sweeter side.

Small, fine, yellowish head, over orange-foxy beer. Orangey nose, not particulary hoppy, bit spicy, but very alcoholic. Bit of ureum. Caramel, alcohol, sweetish but with a fiery, bitterish-hoppy ending. Flavours as from brandy-cake. In the finish, dry-ish liquorice flavour, and orange jam. Some wholemeal-like flavour warming up, getting nutty. Fiery MF, but not astringent. Well bodied, very slick - oily. Alcoholwarming. The massive amount of alcohol does the beer no good, IMO, being too present. Flavours are OK, just too - alcoholic. A rare one, thanks very much, Rodger!

2007 PP SAF VIP session: Golden hued with a small head and spotty lace, a tad oily legs. The aroma has notes of rye, grapefruit, resin, grassy, sugary and a tad cobweb yeast.

WOW! Big snappy rye twang over a layer of simple sugars. Wintergreen, pepper, caramel notes too. Boozy, phenolic and very sweet much like a mead. The mouth feel is warming and lush, oily and sticky. This is different for sure and I liked it the more it warmed.

Tap @ 2007 Strong Ale Fest. Poured a hazy orange-gold color. The aroma was sweet and fruity with a light alcohol nose (surprising for 14.8%). There was also a hint of spice. The flavor was sweet and fruity with hints of orange juice. Full bodied and warming.
