PorterPounder (2881), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Feb 18, 2005 Had on tap at the brewpub in Austin Tx, Has a pleasant light amber appearance with a tight, slightly bubbly white head - with a fair amount of thin lacing. Sweet, slightly nutty aroma. Flavor has some elements of Christmas spices, nuts and alcohol. Has some raisin and date notes with a bit of maple syrup. Mouthfeel is thick and pleasant. Very good Dubbel for a brewpub. DewBrewer (249), Austin, Texas, USA Jan 23, 2005 Pint on draught. It is a hazy dark amber pour. The aroma is malty & yeasty with a bit of cherry. The flavor has caramel, yeast, sugar, fruit, toffee, and alcohol. It has a slightly harsh aftertaste (a bit bitter with heavy alcohol) which we are sure would fade with aging. Really nice beer. HumuloneRed (746), Vancouver, Washington, USA Jan 14, 2005 Served in a 16 oz. glass. Beautiful clear scarlet color with not much head and no lacing. Great malt and raisin nose with a slight nuttiness. Nice malty plum, raisin and nutty flavors with a slight bitterness in the finish. Very warming. Very nice beer.
