grat (433), ST. Louis, Missouri, USA May 3, 2006 Copper and gold. Very effervescent. Purple around the edges and a giant creamy head. Not overly foamy not overly bubbly. Nose is grapeskins, champagne, excellent hop presence. Carrots and orange marmalade. Lavender as well. Great mouthfeel. Velvety carbonation and smooth syrupy malt draw. A mouth full of malts. Slight wheat edge perhaps. Chunky malt sweetness and grainy earthiness. Hops really shine here. Bitterness that lingers for a full 2 or 3 minutes after each sip. Certainly a european style bitterness. More bitter than aromatic on the palate. This is done well.
