Oct 24, 2008 Tap at Draught House.<br />Pours a solid mahogany with an aroma of acorn-laced hops. Biting, hoppy, plant flavor with grapefruit blossoms in the finish. Nice, spreading mouthfeel. Niiiice.

Sep 19, 2008 Dark cloudy red head holds at a thin tan. Full resinous hop aroma. Sweet red ale flavor. Huge hop presence. Medium light creamy mouthfeel. A very, very good beer for which there is no explanation why you are not driniking it right now.

Aug 10, 2007 Tasted March 10, 2007 at Draught House (with free brauts!).
16 oz. glass, opposed to usual 20 oz because of its 8%(+) ABV. EXCELLENT - up there with Kick Ass Brown Ale (Albany Pump Station - Albany, NY), which is my favorite house beer ever. Double Red is a cloudy and strong red ale with ESB/IPA qualities. But smoothed out by the red. Seriously delcious. Bites slowly. You feel it quick. Smiles all around.

Mar 11, 2007 (16oz) Pours a deep, beautiful red. Light head. Taste is strong and a bit sweet; a range of hops and toasty malts. The taste/amount of hops reminds me of some strong English Ales/IPA’s I’ve tried. This was the first of the three house brews I tried. Very good.
