scraff (1703), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Sep 23, 2006 Hazy deep amber, creamy off white head. Nose was full on ginger, flowers and touches of lemongrass. Bitter ginger and floral flavors dominate throughout. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry, gingery finish. Good brew that could pair well with some spicy tuna roll... HumuloneRed (746), Vancouver, Washington, USA Jul 14, 2006 On tap at pub. The first time I had this beer (4, 5 years ago? Longer?) The ginger was overpowering and was the first and the last flavor you tasted. It also gave me heart burn. Now (the last 3 or 4 times its been on tap) it is solid beer which is noticeably ginger in the aroma, flavor and in the finish. Other flavors like clove and banana mingle with the ginger and malt to make it a very pleasant and refreshing beer. dins (267), Texas, USA Dec 11, 2002 Reddish, tastes of ginger and not much else. aceofhearts (1373), San Francisco, California, USA Jul 10, 2002 Looks like any old amber-colored beer. The smell was one of those aromas that you want to reserve judgement on until you actually taste the beer, to see how the flavor can possibly justify a smell that tastes...well, in this case, soapy. Yep, if I were blindfolded outside of a bar and a pint of this was put in front of me and I was asked what it was, I would have said dishwashing soap. The flavor was intense ginger, so intense, that it was soapy as well. As I went along, it only got worse, and I barely managed to finish. Vague hints of wheatiness. Andrew196 (1089), Anaheim Hills, California, USA Jul 10, 2002 Good beer, the ginger was intense....but it added a nice malty character. Pretty misty orange color, their best wheat beer.
