HumuloneRed (746), Vancouver, Washington, USA Jul 16, 2004 Deep straw goldrn hue with great head and silk like lacing. Nice earthy and alcohol aroma. Strong hop flavor that is balance with nice maltiness. Strong alcohol finish. Good beer but needs age. grat (433), ST. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 16, 2004 Updated: Nov 8, 2005Excellent showing here. This brew has the deepest straw color ever miaginable. Nose is sweetly hoppy. Lacks the traditional spicy hops smell of a saaz or tetternang I think because they used cascades...interesting. Very floral, like walking into a flower shop. Alcohol is very apparent, but not vulgarly so. Malts dissapear at first under the strong strong hop character this beer has. Then they peek through slowlyas the carbonation and lager yeast become more apparent. Dense mouthfeel, but not maltilly so only by virtue of the alcohol. Thus it remains somewhat light and yet retains the complexity of texture that darker thicker brews have. So excellent Cheers to the draught house.
