This was an excellent extension of the traditional style for this brew. Charcoal black with dark chocolate head. Lingers on. Nose is very bitter. Lots of cocoa powder and dark, dark chocolate tartness. Powdery and bitter in the nose with a slight tinge of tartness from both the malts and hops. Flavors are exceedingly bitter, but my guess is not from the hops. The bitterness in this one is all dark chocolate in character. Lots of coffee and chalky bitterness. Palate is full. Carbonation is consisitent and enhances the overall character of the palate, flavors and all. Exceedingly bitter after-palate. All in all an excellent porter.

Small sample @Draught House Austin TX. Pours a dark brown to black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt. Flavor is roasted coffee, malt, cocoa, with a bit of bitterness. Reminds me of Papago El Robusto back home. Really nice porter.

Dense black pour with a thin cream tan head. Smell is roasted pecans and coffee grounds (lamost on the verge of burning coffee). Flavor is roasted, sweet and bold. Palate is surprisingly big for a porter and has the perfect amount of creaminess to keep you craving more. Would love to have again!

Pours black with a nice tan head. Smell is coffee, char and rich roasty malt. Strong smelling, and nice. Taste is dark roasty, burnt malt, and bitter coffee. Medium bodied and strongly flavored. A bit acidic, and nice and flavorful overall.

Draught: Pours black, jet black. Creamy light brown head. Has the aroma of perfectly roasted espresso beans, black strap molasses, oak, and cream. Smoked malty flavor, coffee, and milk chocolate. It’s a little bland in the finish. Not thick but not super thin. Easy to drink. I’d do it again and again.

Draught. Very sweet coffee nose, with some toffee and other dark sweetnesses. Pours black with a patchy brown head. Lots of coffee with a touch of acidity. Medium thickness, easy drinking. A solid porter.

Dark black beer, no head, only a tiny amount of lacing. O.K. no lacing. Aroma is mostly of coffee and some dark cocoa. Dark roasted malt flavor, almost burnt, with coffee, alcohol, and hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is heavy, carbonated, and has a dull bite that lingers. Finish is medium thick, and has an almost burnt malt and bitterness that lasts a few seconds.
