Oct 31, 2009 Thick, foamy head topping a yellowish, hazy colour. Aroma is slightly sweet with some summery malts evident. Taste is floral, sweet and decently backed by light malt. Finish isn’t much to crow about but it’s decent if underwhelming. Solid craft brew in a style I’m not a huge fan of.

Malty sweet with a good hop backing. Very nice amber ale. This was a pleasure to drink.

Aug 31, 2009 First of all, i praise driftwood for coming on the scene and bringing some less conventional european styles to B.C. This one starts with a lacy cap on a blood orange body. Nose of floral and fleshy fruits with munich malt undertones. Roasted malt, caramel and spicy hops predominate with some late fruity esters. Finish is lingering alcohol and smooth, mellow. I like.

Aug 23, 2009 Bottle. Orange colour with an off-white head. Light aroma of caramel, flowers, and a bit of sweetness. Taste of caramel, citrus, oranges, floral hops, metal. On the light and a bit watery side.

Jul 7, 2009 Updated: Jul 8, 2009From Firefly. Gave up a finger’s worth of creamy white head to cap a beautiful amber body. Aroma was malt underpinned by some hop and floral notes. Flavour was some malt and little else. Certainly less sweet than the aroma suggested. Mouth too thin by far. Decent finish.

Jun 1, 2009 Pours a clear strawberry-copper with a decent white head and some lace. Aroma is lightly stale oily noble hops and sweet malt - munich comes as no surprise. Lightly buttered character in the taste, pleasant lingering malt finish, light on the hops. Good carbonation, crisp body. Not bad, for a style I’m not too hot on.

May 30, 2009 Pleasant cereal and bread-like malt nose with lightly spicy hops. Clear amber body is topped by a decent, thick, frothy, off-white head that recedes to a lasting cover with nice lacing. Breadlike malts with light fruity esters that linger through the aftertaste. Assertive but not overpowering bitterness. Medium body is quite dry in texture with relatively strong carbonation. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from the fridge. Bottle (Best Before 9/12/09) purchased at Brewery Creek in May-09.
