Pours a clear copper with a thin head but fantastic lacing. Incredible oily hop aroma - sweet and just... good lord. Great malt backbone plunges right into fantastic hop goodness, greatness even. Godliness? Very herbal and perfectly blended with the malt, sweet freshly-mown grass. As I finish the bottle quickly I am drawn into a vision where I have just cut my Grandparents’ massive lawn, and am sitting drinking the perfect beer next to the lawnmower. Light buttery character. Creamy and well-carbonated, no complaints about the body. This may just be the best beer brewed in this province, and it makes all of my happy light up.

Nov 20, 2009 Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy bright light orangey with a medium size head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of floral hops with light citrus and bitter finish is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a nice mix between some floral hops with some nice clean citrus notes with a medium bitter finish and light sweet malt backbone. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no appearance of alcohol thought it can be felt at the end of the glass. Nothing extraordinary but well done nonetheless.

Nov 14, 2009 Bottle, thanks for hauling it over here Daniel! Rich and very very fresh grass and pine hop aroma - like sniffing the hop bucket. Hazy red amber, lacing creamy head. Fresh hops dominate the flavor as well, balanced by a good solid caramel-sweet body. The hop profile is very well put together, strong and aromatic, not overly bitter and without the hop-soap residue you sometimes get.

Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Nice and clear coppery beer with lasting head. Lacing is as close to perfect as I’ve ever seen. Smells like citrusy hops. Taste is very hoppy, supported by nice malt flavour. Abundant citrusy hop flavour. I was very impressed by the mouthfeel in the sense that the beer felt almost alive, it was so fresh. As far as IPAs go, this one is not the bitterness king, but in this case, that is no handicap. Very well done by Driftwood.

Oct 11, 2009 Beautiful thick strong hop nose is bursting with pungent citrus and floral character with plenty of underlying round malt sweetness. Clear deep copper coloured body is topped by a decent, off white, fine bubbled head that recedes to a decent cover with some nice lacing. Strong bitterness offsets the toasted honey malt sweetness. Citrus and floral hop flavours are strong but not dominant and there is a somewhat grassy note apparent in the aftertaste. Medium body with moderate to strong carbonation that engages the tongue and cheeks. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in Oct-09.

Oct 9, 2009 22oz bomber from 16th Street LS in West Van. Expiry date listed as March 30,2010. Strong hop punch upon opening. Pours a copper colour with thick and foamy head which clings to the glass. The aroma is very welcoming with fresh hop pungency. The taste is equally satisfying with sharp, honeyed hops that really do seem exceptionally fresh. The malt backing is superbly well crafted and gives just the right counter balance. More Centennial hop potency lingers on the finish. Grab some while you can. What a treat!
