UnsofistaCat (221), Garden City, Michigan, USA Jul 4, 2009 Had some banana to it, actually. nice head...lace. But also had a strange grape nuts taste to it. markas101 (470), Fargo, North Dakota, USA Jul 2, 2009 50 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Slightly hazy amber, frothy head with tiny bubbles. Average aroma, caramel and citrus flavor. crisp peppery finish. Not bad, but certainly quaffable. DarkStar22769 (95), Ontario, Canada Jun 28, 2009 500ml bottle from LCBO; hardly any scent of anything pint glass. I was hoping for something hoppy but I didn’t even get a malt sweetness. The appearance is fine...clean, minor layer of foam on top. Fairly expected, I’d say, so I wasn’t floored by it. The flavour is very sweet. Caramel and vanilla are the core with some licorice notes. There is NO bitterness whatsoever. Disappointed? Not really, but I’m not crazy about this. Too bad. The palate is full. I’d like to really like this beer but it overwhelms me. Given what we can get locally, I wouldn’t buy this regularly. NJJereme (173), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Jun 21, 2009 Bottle. Orange-brown and opaque with a light off-white head. Very nice balance b/w the hops and malt. A hint of caramel, bread, and a subtle bitterness. Medium bodied. Not bad at all. presario (2768), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 20, 2009 Bottle. Orange-amber. Light head. Soft orange hop aroma. Pretty straight foward English bitter. Light hop presence. ChrisThomson (254), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 17, 2009 Bottle. Decent beer. Pours cloudy amber with minimal white head. Floral aromas with caramel maltiness. A bit too sweet for me. JPDIPSO (4661), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jun 16, 2009 Label actually states English Ale, but I’m reasonably assured that it is a marketing thing for here in the states. Bright copper color with a moderate, but stable ecru head. Wet floor malt, and mild hops of mild herb in the aroma. Nothing that excites the schnoz. I saw this was a Wychwood brew and cringed slightly as I placed it in my basket. Forgot about it until I tasted and the memories flooded back. Nutty malt mixes with mild alcohol. Dry hopsack flavors add little to balance. THere are some nice floral flavors in the middle, but they are swept away by a dry caffeine bitterness. Gets sweeter as you progress.
