Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 24, 2008 A hazy dark amber ale with a thin off white head. Light herbal hops and malt in aroma, faint. In mouth, good crisp ale with good resinous hops, light caramel, and light mineral notes, herbaceous qualities. Nice ale. Bought at LCBO. BB 5/12/08. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours an orange/brown, just a small ring of white head. Aroma of honey, pear, raisin, and apple juice. Flavor of wheat, lots of apple, tartness. Sweet, light body, very simple and mellow. This beer is subtle, not in your face with flavor, which is why I liked it a lot. Tasty and light. Delicious. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle. Nice aroma of honey, raisin, sweet caramel malt. Flavor not as rich, esters get lost in the mouth, reduced to a caramel maltiness. Somewhat watery. No hops to be found, though I imagine that’s due to some time on the shelf. Getting slammed in the ratings recently...wasn’t unpleasant, just not particularly memorable. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 20, 2008 bottle, dark brown color with milkshake head, aromas of caramel and malt, flavors lean toward dry wood and malt with a finish reminiscent of bitter leftover coffee spagyetti (68), Puyallup, Washington, USA Jun 20, 2008 Bottle. The head dissipated almost as fast as I poured it. Nice amber colour and body. Seemingly low octane ale. A boring example of bitters. The label on this bottle reads, Duchy Originals Organic "English Ale", I believe these two to be the same. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a rich mahogany color with a small beigh head. Aroma of toasted grain, caramel, light oak, and some light citrus. Flavor is caramel, light fruit, toffee, malt sweetness and a hint of floral hops. light to medium body with a dry and bitter finish. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Jun 7, 2008 Served at ~60deg. F Deep cloudy amber/brown, 1 inch off-white tan, foamy head. Caramel malt aroma, Rich malt taste, with caramel, sugar, and some hops. Medium-thick mouthfeel. On the finish is has a corn sugar tasted to it. scotty (828), Scotland Jun 3, 2008 Clear amber colour no head other than a thin film of tiny bubbles. Noticable caramel nose with some fruity hops. Medium bodied, malty and slight fruit on the palate. Ok, if a bit uninspired. Had worse.
