Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

Bottle. Deep brownish red in color with a little head. Malty caramel aroma. Sweet tasting. Grainy malty flavor. Finish is bitter. Ok beer.

Bottle. Brownish red color. How do I hate most English beers? Let me count the ways. 1. The hops always taste dusty. 2. Crappy head retention. 3. Aroma is like it was left in the dumpster for a few warm days. 4. Aftertaste makes me want to brush my teeth. Anyway, the decent thing about this beer is the decent sweetness of the malt.

Bottle from Mattias. Bottle conditioned hazy amber body. Aromas of grainy cereal, lemongrass and wet straw. A bit of dusty hops and slightly spicey malt notes. Noticeable amount of caramel and a medium bitter finish. All in all a rather uninspiring ale.

pours amber copper coloured, slightly hazy creamy head. nose is floral with caramel and slight fruit, not as royal as i thought it might be. tastes slightly metallic like aluminum, good hoppage floral bitterness but that might be all it has going for it.

Smells very nice. Chewy caramel. A nice light flavor. A bit of floral aspects but also stays on the teeth for awhile. Maybe lingers just a bit too long.

Hazy orange color with a small to medium sized foamy off white colored head. Nose is caramel, alcohol, sugar, muted hops, and malt. Is is acidic with notes of grass and a bit of caramel. Decent bitter finish that is mild and somewhat floral. Not much to say.
