Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

500mL bottle purchased from LCBO in Toronto. Pours an attractive, slightly clouded dark copper. Very little head. Mild, typical English pale ale aroma. The flavour is also rather typically English - and decent. Mild hoppiness, well balanced, low carbonation.

A nice light ale almost lager like. Very nice and flavourful. Some fruit aromas, with a very decent head. An enjoyable all around ale

Pours a nice, slightly hazy orange-brown with a small but long-lasting head with some nice lacing. Aroma is pleasant, brown sugar and fresh hops. Taste is quite nice, lightly toasted malt and some diacetyl very well balanced by anglo-hops. Good hoppy finish, decent carbonation and quite creamy body. Not a bad bitter!

50 cL bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a lacing off-white head. Light sweet caramel malt and minor fruity note in the aroma. Flavour holds a light spiced and liqourice like hops note. Light fruity hops flavour following. Goes into a dry bitter finish.
