BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Mar 27, 2008 Amber color with a sweet hoppy aroma and plenty of malt. Grainy flavor with a little bit of tea among the light hops.
matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Mar 21, 2008 500 ml bottle from the LCBO. pours orangish red with a mid sized tan head. almost no aromas but whats there is caramel malts and light hops. flavours are nicely balanced between the caramel and hop components but are to small to be really enjoyable. over carbonation makes this one lose a point in palatability. pretty good but not something id buy for the price they charge here in ontario. Slipstream (734), USA Mar 17, 2008 A half liter with a classy label - it looks like a wine bottle. They say that profits are donated to the Prince of Wales Foundation. The aroma is pleasantly sweet malt and yeast. The amber-colored brew is fizzy without much lace. Enjoyably mild taste - gently hopped with noticable yeast. I wanted to pick a good one for my 200th rating, but nothing really stands out (or offends) here. This ale would be nice with lunch on a warm day. Diogène (543), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 15, 2008 Poured a clear copper with a thin beige head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is caramel, roasted malt, oak and some hops. Flavour is roasted malt, caramel, nuts, oak, and some fruits, with a bitter-astringent finish. Medium body and medium carbonation. yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Mar 11, 2008 500ml bottle, 5% a/v
Gorgeous beer, deep copper red colour with a stunning tan head which exudes the beers aroma very well, and laces quite beautifully. The aroma itself is sweet, caramels and fruity warmth, with a slight hop aroma. The beer tastes of bananas, apples, mild malt and slight floral hoppiness. This is a very interesting beer, and one I would recommend.
I would be interested to try another beer made with the "Plumage Archer" barley. Shag (1922), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Mar 9, 2008 A dark orange to copper color. A slightly musty aroma with some brown sugar, molasses, caramel and some light citrus. The flavor is somewhat sour with a hint of sweetness. Some lemons, caramel, and toffee. Only a hint of bitterness in the finish. This one might have some unwanted age on it but overall a decent session ale. Blasphemies (45), Ontario, Canada Mar 9, 2008 Brown-red colour. Malt and caramel taste, slightly hoppy. Not overly exciting.
