Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 17, 2007 Bottle from Party Source. Poured dark amber color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Light sour citrus and sweet malt aroma. Light to medium body with a dry texture. Medium sweet flavor with a medium balanced finish of moderate duration. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 15, 2007 Bottle. Hazy light orange body with a small white head. The aroma is moderately chalky, minerals, somewhat fruity (oranges), and with some dirty bread notes. Dark, bready flavour that is fairly straightforward. Clean finish. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Feb 15, 2007 I had no idea this was a Wychwood beer until I read the fine print. Wow. Anyway, mine’s labeled "English Ale", but I’m pretty sure this is the same beer. Mine poured a ruddy, rusty orage with a wet, bumpy head. The aroma is very airy, but bittersweet, almost sour, musty, and honey-like. The same impression carries to the flavors ... slightly sour, almost citrusy, but like a blood orange, rindy, and while short of puckery, a bit tart. (#2707, 2/15/2007) Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Feb 11, 2007 Bottle. Iced-tea body with a foamy half-inch head. Nose-dirty, lightly smokey, spoiled apple juice. Taste-unsweet apple juice, light straw, medium to high CO2, light cherry cough syrup, unsweet granny smith apples, strawberry, black pepper, medium hop bitterness, syrupy sweet. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Feb 9, 2007 Bottle (500ml). Shared with mds and tupalev, tupalev’s bottle. Hazy orange, smallish bubbly-frothy head. Soft, earthy bready yeast aroma, sweet but light. Very grainy and soft taste, odd hint of orange zest in it, sweet aftertaste. Light yet full body, wheaty and mildly malty, not much carbonation - a little sweet for an ESB, but pleasant. Beer is clear, medium-brown. Head is frothy, off-white, smaller than average. Mostly lasting

The aroma: Well, it sure smells British. ;) It’s malty with light notes of toasted grain, caramel; Hoppy with moderate notes of dusty, sharpish resin/pine, herbal note of weak mint; Yeasty with moderate note of dank basement; Light miscellaneous note of sweet, rotting, wooden planks.

The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter with a short, lightly sweet, trace acidic finish. Watery.

Body is light, texture is watery and the carbonation is softer than average. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 3, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (apricot), trace yeast (dough), with notes of metal shavings. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Surprisingly bad. Highly metallic with a terrible aftertaste, boring aroma.
