apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Aug 6, 2006 This looks like a decent ESB, with a copper-colored body, clear, and a white head. The aroma is quite malty, with hints of caramel and yet it is slightly bitter. Decently full-nosed, but not overwhelmingly so. The flavor isn’t very complex, and not too bitter. Pretty smooth, drinkable and light. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 6, 2006 Cloudy straw pour with impressive lacing - bright, fruity aroma, withg copious fresh hops (the hops almost smell american or german, as opposed to the stale hop smell I’m used to in a lot of british ales) - dry, hoppy bitterness up front - followed by a strong citrus and apple flavor - then slight bready malts round things out - the flavor is there, but overall it’s a bit thin and "flat" in a way I’ve experienced with a lot of other organic ales - it’s not something that can really be described, but once you’ve had enough organic beer, you notice it right away. rybowen (105), Los Angeles 90039, California, USA Aug 5, 2006 Pours a pretty dark copper color with minimal head. Caramely, toasted notes in the flavor with a moderate balanced hop flavor. Somewhat heavy, but very nice. Overall a good one. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 4, 2006 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated light orange brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was musty and dirty smelling. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt mild hops sweet and crisp. An OK brew just nothing special. dj (418), Gloucestershire, England Jul 23, 2006 Bottle, 500ml. A dark amber coloured pour with a small lasting head. Aromas of sweet fruit (plum, citrus), malt and hops. A well-balanced hoppy and malty taste with hints of citrus, honey and roasted notes standing out. Alcohol is noticable. A somewhat sweet, fruity finish with a hint of malt. Moderate carbonation. This is good stuff. STEPHENDR (478), California, USA Jul 19, 2006 Honey color- white head- slight hop, citrus, honey, nose- bitter malt taste- sour aftertaste DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Jul 19, 2006 Big hop/malt nose, copper, a finger of creamy white head, some pretty lace. Fresh hops taste, then a really fine malt underpinning. Medium bodied, well balanced, fresh, very hoppy mouthfeel. A fine one! Bigsilky (322), Charleston, USA Jul 16, 2006 In my Crown Viking glass, this is probably one of the best looking British Bitters I have ever seen. Nice healthy head that follows the beer to the end of the glass. Amber rich hue. This was a little vegetal on the nose, the hops may be a little too earthy, or tired. I could detect a faint element of toffee and maybe a little biscuity malt, all loosely checked by a girly-man hop accent. All in all I really did like this beer and the balance it achieves. The individual elements don’t seem to be worth much. Very "British" if you know what I mean.
