Gethinbeer (995), Nova Scotia, Canada Jul 15, 2006 From bottle. Fruity aroma of pears and hops. Light golden cloudy appearance with just a hint of head. I expected more from this beer, but as I taste it, just seems dull. A bitter with a musty taste. This beer is just boring. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 9, 2006 sharp, malty, skunky aroma. amber color. small lasting white head. small amount of toasted caramel tasting malts. light bitter hop finish. this isn’t bad. wychwood’s best brew. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Jul 3, 2006 Amber, weak head. Faint aroma of caramel, hops. Thin and watery. Completely forgettable. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2006 It would have been hard for this to have had a much better appearance - good gold orange PA color, very classy bottle and label. I didn’t care for the aroma all that much though - kinda stinkyeasty in the bitter vein. Beer is generally dry, with some toasted grain, muted caramel and medium bittering. Medium to session weight. Finishes off long and lightly bitter. Fairly clean drinking, but not foremost among my beloved English bitters. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 16, 2006 Bottle... Clear, amber ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. Aroma is bland, but earthy with light notes of sweat, straw and white bread. The flavor leans just a hair on the bitter side of balance. No malty goodness; just mild, earthy, herbal hops. Medium-bodied and almost creamy with lively carbonation. Short, crisp, gently bitter finish. Boring! beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA Jun 2, 2006 (04.23.06) One pint, 0.9 oz brown bottle from Whole Foods, Deerfield, IL. Poured clear amber with small white head. Good carbonation. Fresh fruity/malty aroma. Medium bodied ale that starts dry with light toasted malt flavor. Finished dry with light hop bitterness. Mild delicate malt flavor. Well-balanced, this is a delicious drinkable ale. Hard to believe that this very good beer was brewed by Wychwood as I tried three of their other beers and found them to be wanting. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 14, 2006 Bottle at Beer on the Pier, Chicago. Buttery esters, clearly English aroma that is not quite typical of an ESB. Clear amber with a thin, slightly off-white head. Dry, thin flaovr with some malt. Nondescript brew, but I’ll bet the English love it. Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 5, 2006 Orangey copper, thin ring of foam. Caramel and whole wheat bread aroma. Bready, rye-ish, with a hint of caramel and a rather unpleasent metallic bitterness in the finish.
