May 14, 2006 Bottle at Beer on the Pier, Chicago. Buttery esters, clearly English aroma that is not quite typical of an ESB. Clear amber with a thin, slightly off-white head. Dry, thin flaovr with some malt. Nondescript brew, but I’ll bet the English love it.

May 5, 2006 Orangey copper, thin ring of foam. Caramel and whole wheat bread aroma. Bready, rye-ish, with a hint of caramel and a rather unpleasent metallic bitterness in the finish.

Apr 29, 2006 Pours dark reddish amber with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma is light bready and malty, toffee, and caramel.
Taste has mild grassy hoppiness with light caramel, tofeee, and an ending note of herbal bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with light lively carbonation.

Mar 27, 2006 Poured with a creamy tan head over a mid-hazed, coppery/orange body. Aroma finds soapy florals over dusty grains. Sharp sourness emerges later with an earthen/herbal tilt. A smooth palate carries an unassuming bittersweet flavor to a sweet & sour finish with light vegetal notes. Not bad... simply nothing much.

Mar 17, 2006 Had this at a beer and cheese tasting. It was matched with Quicke’s Goat Cheddar - Devon. Virtually zero head. Some hop aroma, but mostly faint malt. Nothing really stands out about this beer. It did have a nice fresh taste to it, though.

Mar 13, 2006 Whole Foods, Baton Rouge, La., 500 bottle. Light copper pour, thin, sticky white head with a wee bit of lacing. Fresh, but faint, grassy aroma, hints of Christmas spices. Decent subtle bitterness, faint fruitness, some nuttiness. Finishes with a buttery note. Nothing really jumps out and grabs you in the flavor, but it is clean and smooth. Good session possibilities. Palate, slightly thin, but not watery.
