Elwood (667), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Apr 5, 2009 1 pt. bottle. Pours a hazy amber/orange with a small, creamy, white head. The head is pretty quick to fade. Honey, heather, a touch of yeast, and a bit of citrus in the nose. Medium low carbonation with a dry mouthfeel and a light body. Honey notes, malt, and a solid bitterness on the palate. It is okay, but nothing spectacular. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA Apr 4, 2009 Reviewed 04/02/2009 (Bottle):
Pours a cloudy orange red body, dark. Foamy whitish colored head, diminishing. Sweet fruit aroma. Very dusty musty English smelling aroma. Watery, not carbonated honey taste. Sweet tasting but not sickly palate, or taste. Very English tasting. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Apr 3, 2009 smells like an englishmans breath ... decent lacing .. . some sweet aromas .. . a decent english ale not that offensive.. pretty good head .. . giraffes! JCastner (102), New York, USA Mar 17, 2009 Pours a deep amber with almost no head. Aroma of plums and English hops. Taste is the same with sweet malt and understated bitterness. While not one of my favorite ESBs, it’s a pleasant session beer nonetheless. madquacker (707), Canberra ACT, Australia Mar 11, 2009 Ruby red colour with grippy sour grapes and strong grains. Quite chewy. very nice alse. Powertrip (183), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 8, 2009 A small redeaming feature is the crisp pureness to the taste....but that crisp pureness holds very little body and character, with zero aftertaste and absolutely nothing on the nose. I tried hard to pick out the barley in this one and I’m sure it did add to the pureness...but it certainly didn’t play the tasteful role I expected. Unfortunate here as I love organics... DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Feb 28, 2009 Bottle. (as "Organic English Ale"). Sweet caramel aroma. Cloudy orange body, small off-white head. Flavor is moderately sweet, very malty and caramel. Not bad, but not terribly interesting. joe19612 (673), camberley, Surrey, England Feb 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours a murky copper orange with a thin white head. Malty aroma with just a hit of hops, the taste is bitter with plenty of malts, with a bitter dry finish. Not a bad beer one of Wychwood better efforts.
