Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

Bottle. A hazed reddish orange color (a/ka/ murkey amber) with a quickly laced white bubley head. Malty, caramel, bright hops, flowers, with an earthy base. Wet on the palate with an organic grain like finish.

Clear, light amber color...ample froth atop... Aroma: a creamy thing, light, yeasty, zesty, a bit of bready malt... Taste: sweetish, fruitish, a spank of hops, nicely bitter, juicy, tasty, yum...Medium bodied, sufficient malt, a touch of caramel there, very much delicious. Here’s an organic ale I can stand up and salute. Very tasty, not just noble, but well worth the drinking. If you want to go organic, here’s the perfect place. Mmmmm....

Clear reddy amber body with a very compact head that hung on till the finish. Aroma was hard to pick up at first but then noticed grain, fruit and raisins. Taste was mildly bitter without the hops showing out at all, body was a bit thin but that made it fairly easy to drink though I can’t seem to find to the organic thing in there!!

Medium amber, decent head. Aroma was very nice, loads of caramel and a bit of toffee, almost like a barleywine. Very faint vegetal hop, but it didn’t detract. Flavor was nothing like the nose. Medium biscuit malts, faint floral hop bitterness on the finish. Very clean flavor, this wasn’t a bad beer, just not what I expected from the aroma.

bottle, dark brown color with milkshake head, aromas of caramel and malt, flavors lean toward dry wood and malt with a finish reminiscent of bitter leftover coffee

Bottle. Sweet and malty aroma with slight hops, a little apple juice, and citrus. Golden pour with a rocky creamy beige head. Light bitterness with the aforementioned flavor notes, weak caramel, a little pilsnery. Grassy and grainy. Watery. Bitter aftertaste.

Amber color with a sweet hoppy aroma and plenty of malt. Grainy flavor with a little bit of tea among the light hops.

Herbal and flowery nose...spritzy smelling. Tea colored with a firm, creamy white head. Malty-sweet with sweetbread and biscuits popping out and some butterscotch notes as well. Some hints of toffee and light caramel as well. Very mellow and almost hopless. A very easy drinker due to its watery feel ont he palate.
