Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

A Mes rate: Strange aroma of manure horses and straw with some malt coming through too. Nice amber colour and slightly better head in my experience to the Summer version. Creamy, smooth, hoppy and spicy. Finish is similar with some extra bitteness.Finish is a little sticky and metallic and lets it down a little. A shade better than the Summer ale for me.

Quite unexciting. Raw malt and hops thrown in to make a just drinkable beer that lacks any sort of character or excitment whatsoever.

(500ml bottle) Pours a deep clear amber body with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, and florals. Flavor of caramel malt and mild floral hops. Good carbonation.

Bottle... Clear, amber ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. Aroma is bland, but earthy with light notes of sweat, straw and white bread. The flavor leans just a hair on the bitter side of balance. No malty goodness; just mild, earthy, herbal hops. Medium-bodied and almost creamy with lively carbonation. Short, crisp, gently bitter finish. Boring!

Savoury barley flavour. Quite sticky mouthfeel, even a little bit cloying, some grainyness, with some resiny hops in the finish, shares a lot of same characters as other beers from Wychwood. A bit unexciting.

16.9oz bottle-pours a rich tan head that laces and slightly hazed copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, bread, medium fruit-plum. Taste is earthy medium malt-caramel, bread, medium fruit-plum, some herbal. Some off notes. Mild carbonation.

Sweet and malty organic ale, with some bitterness in the finish. Palate is a bit thin

Bottled, pasteurised. Reddish brown beer with laced white head. Malty beer with an overboiiled backtaste, some fruit but a little too much grain for me. Dry and bitter, but some soggy cardboard too.
