Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

Crystal clear medium copper color with smallish off white head. Aroma has bit of diacetyl, honey, pear, caramel. Flavor is malty, lots of caramel, bit of vanilla and oak. Finish is balanced, a bit on the sweet side.

Nose is gently fruity and sweet. Pours a slightly muddy amber. Flavour follows the nose, developing into honey and orange notes. Mouthfeel lets it down a bit, as it is very watery. Finish disappears almost immediately. Alright, but nothing to write home about.

Bottle. Pours a murky copper orange with a thin white head. Malty aroma with just a hit of hops, the taste is bitter with plenty of malts, with a bitter dry finish. Not a bad beer one of Wychwood better efforts.

Murky copper body with a finger of off-white head. Smells like malt and Enlish hops. Tastes malty with a fair bit of hops. Flavor is not overpowering... Medium bodied... Rather tasty IMO. A solid ale.

Hardly any head on a light orange-amber body. Nice taste, very smooth, with discreet notes of fruits, otherwise malty. Very well-balanced. A pleasure to drink, not too strong, good session beer!

1 pt. bottle. Pours a hazy amber/orange with a small, creamy, white head. The head is pretty quick to fade. Honey, heather, a touch of yeast, and a bit of citrus in the nose. Medium low carbonation with a dry mouthfeel and a light body. Honey notes, malt, and a solid bitterness on the palate. It is okay, but nothing spectacular.
