I tried this beer on March 3, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a slightly hazy pinkish red with very little head. The aroma was mainly malty with some nutty and hoppy tones. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with high carbonation. The flavour was surprisingly hoppy with some malty tones. dj (422), Gloucestershire, England

Aromas of sweet fruit (plum, citrus), malt and hops. A well-balanced hoppy and malty taste with hints of citrus, honey and roasted notes standing out. Alcohol is noticable. A somewhat sweet, fruity finish with a hint of malt. Moderate carbonation. This is good stuff. wilderthanyou (417), Guelph, Ontario, Canada

Aroma slightly reminds me of wychwoods scarecrow beer, so I’m assuming the the bread and grass aroma comes from the Plumage Archer barley. Flavors of malts, and hops, with some bready character. The palat has some decent carbonation, but a watery dry finish wich leaves somethign to be desired. Not a bad beer, but certainely could be better. dyetube (409), Dallas, Texas, USA

This beer is very simple, for lack of better words... Taste like an ordinary esb but not quite bitter enough. I thought this would have a better flavor to it, but it is not a very good ale. Mind you it is better than the bmc’s but not by much! Cheers! ChrisThomson (397), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Several strings of small bubbles rise from the sides of the glass. Surprisingly high amount of hops on the nose, followed by scents of caramel and a touch of brown sugar. Hops are also omnipresent in the flavour, with a bitterness that strings out a fairly long finish. Quite refreshing. gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Very full bodied. Definately malty with a bitter hopped finish. A little too bitter for me. Hat that bite the back of your throat taste I am not fond of. yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

Gorgeous beer, deep copper red colour with a stunning tan head which exudes the beers aroma very well, and laces quite beautifully. The aroma itself is sweet, caramels and fruity warmth, with a slight hop aroma. The beer tastes of bananas, apples, mild malt and slight floral hoppiness. This is a very interesting beer, and one I would recommend.
I would be interested to try another beer made with the "Plumage Archer" barley.
