Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

I agree that this is the best from Wychwood I’ve had so far because it has a phat malty layer along with some grain flavors and a not too dry finish. The soapyness is part of the style but it does kind of ruin things a bit. I picked this up at Tommy’s wine and food emporium in Duck, NC because the traffic was a bit heavy (should of gone to Chips in Kill Devil Hills). Maybe I should have spent less than $5.99 and opten for a $3.99 Chimay.

Bottle. Orange-brown and opaque with a light off-white head. Very nice balance b/w the hops and malt. A hint of caramel, bread, and a subtle bitterness. Medium bodied. Not bad at all.

16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a nearly clear copper red with a creamy, pale yellow/white head. Light but pleasant aroma of malt. The flavor is also mild with malt, caramel and hops all present in good proportion. Light bitterness at the finish. All in all, well balanced and easy to drink - I enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Pours a murky copper orange with a thin white head. Malty aroma with just a hit of hops, the taste is bitter with plenty of malts, with a bitter dry finish. Not a bad beer one of Wychwood better efforts.

500 mL bottle from Whole Foods Market in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a medium amber color with a large white creamy head. Good retention and lacing. Fruity and slightly bitter hops in the aroma with some toasted grain notes. Taste is toasted malts with tea and fruity hop notes. Medium bodied. Quite nice.
