Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

Amber apperance. No head. Quite soft and velvety. Soft, medium bitter finish. A bit metallic flavour, otherwise a good beer.

A very fruity aroma, sort carbonation, quite bitter but lacking something to make it above par. It needed a bit more body but I wouls agree that this is better than a lot of Wychwood brews.

Bottle from Waitrose, Marlborough, Wilts. Amber coloured, with a small white head and lacing. Rich toffee aroma. Very balanced session ale. Subtle toffee flavour - slightly dry to finish, with a lingering aftertaste. Nutty flavour + chocolate bunny and jelly goldfish - reminds me of a trip to Thorntons. Overall: quietly effective.

LCBO bottle purchase- Pours deep amber, topped with a frothy beige cap. The aroma is of fresh hops, green fresh cut grass, bubblegum, maybe some bread, biscuit. The flavours are very fresh and dripping with hops. Nice sweet caramel, bready/doughy, thrills gum, a touch of leafy greens. FInishes puckering, bitter, good.

bottle from sainsburys, this is good stuff, brilliant copper colour, firm white lasting head. on the mose its not too much of anything, just some malt i got, but in the mouth i found this to be a full flavoured ESB style beer, caramel and malts dominate, fills the mouth brilliantly and has just a touch of bitterness at the finish, excellent stuff

Deep orangeish red pour with a nice bubbly head Scent of hops and malts, the malts are sweet smelling almost like honey. Very full bodied. Definately malty with a bitter hopped finish. A little too bitter for me. Hat that bite the back of your throat taste I am not fond of.
