Commercial Description:
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned).
This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove.
Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour.
The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe.
The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

Bottle. Nut coloured with no great amount of foam. Aromas are floral hops and spice with some nutty malts - quite light. Flavours are more malty with caramel and some roast character. Dry and bitter. Quite warming on the finish despite its alcohol content. Slightly thin on the palate, if there was a cask version it would be quite nice.

Bottle. A hazed reddish orange color (a/ka/ murkey amber) with a quickly laced white bubley head. Malty, caramel, bright hops, flowers, with an earthy base. Wet on the palate with an organic grain like finish.

Golden yellow color. Fizzy white head. Slightly hoppy flavor with mild floral notes. Some citric and malt tastes. Nothing spectacular, but perhaps worth a try once..

500 ml bottle from the LCBO. pours orangish red with a mid sized tan head. almost no aromas but whats there is caramel malts and light hops. flavours are nicely balanced between the caramel and hop components but are to small to be really enjoyable. over carbonation makes this one lose a point in palatability. pretty good but not something id buy for the price they charge here in ontario.

Kind of a muddy copper pour with some head. Flavor is sweet and carmelly with some grassiness. A bit of fruit, some hops, some caramel in the flavor. Ale with decent hop flavor here, pretty nice flavor.

Pours a deep amber with almost no head. Aroma of plums and English hops. Taste is the same with sweet malt and understated bitterness. While not one of my favorite ESBs, it’s a pleasant session beer nonetheless.

Brown-red colour. Malt and caramel taste, slightly hoppy. Not overly exciting.

Amber colour with a rapidly disappearing head . Aroma of flowery hops with a hint of honey . Lacing on glass. Sweet taste, bitter aftertaste. Would be better if there hadn’t of been so much carbonation.
