Not really that nice, there’s worse though, but if people can rate this high imagine if they tried a decent cask conditioned bitter? ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Buttery esters, clearly English aroma that is not quite typical of an ESB. Clear amber with a thin, slightly off-white head. Dry, thin flaovr with some malt. Nondescript brew, but I’ll bet the English love it. johninmelb (692), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Nose is gently fruity and sweet. Pours a slightly muddy amber. Flavour follows the nose, developing into honey and orange notes. Mouthfeel lets it down a bit, as it is very watery. Finish disappears almost immediately. Alright, but nothing to write home about. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 11/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Fruity/bubblegum nose. Head is loose and quickly dissipates. It’s a little too heavy on the tongue for my tastes. Burnt sugar and bready notes. I prefer my Bitters with a little more bit. Cheers! tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Thick sweet caramel aroma with floral and earthy hops apparent. Brilliantly clear copper coloured body is topped by a low but lasting large bubbled off white head. Butterscotch and caramel blend well in the flavour with mild offsetting bitterness to prevent it from becoming cloying. Mildly astringent medium light body with somewhat watery texture and fair to low carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (BB 13-May-09, Brewery Crek, Aug-08).
