Fancy bottle with an engraved "D" in Fraktur typeface and a paper seal on the cap. Very stylish. Claims to have been aged in beech wood barrels. Pours a beautiful copper color with medium-sized white head. Aroma is lots of caramel, strong and decisive, along with some banana and sweet malts. Taste is more caramel, spices, banana, very fruity. Light mouthfeel but that is typical for the style. Drinkability is very high. Excellent and quite underrated caramelly Hefeweizen.

(0.5L Bottle) Brand new at Toom Markt in Hamburg. Pours a rusty brown color with off-white head. Rich flavor includes bananas, peaches and caramel. I can taste no resemblence to regular Duckstein, although marketed similarly. A very good hefeweizen.

Bottled: Spicy aroma, clove, cinnamon and tangerine/banana notes. Orange color with creamy head. Wheaty flavor, bit sweetness with yeast and clove notes. Some citrus peel and a light dry finish. Solid wheat!

Biggish white lasting head. Hazy opaque reddish orange body. Wooden banana aroma with roasty lacquer notes. Dry-sweetish delicate roasty earthy banana taste with peppery herbal milky notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry delicate wooden grassy peppery aftertaste with dried fruit notes. Very nice. One of the most interesting weizens I’ve had, yet delicate and easy to drink. (0.5l bottle from some supermarket in Kiel.)

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy amber golden with a nice, off-white head. Very fresh and fruity nose with lots of banana. Medium body with lots of banana, yeast and phenols. Dry finish with the fruitiness still present. 160806

Bottle. Cloudy orange colour with a white creamy head. Nice aroma of yeast, bread-like, little orange peel and banana. Very soft flavour of wheat and yeast, pretty good.
