Thin film of head. Aroma of malt and prunes/plums. Taste is heavy on caramel, along with malt, and a distinct nuttiness. A bit of hops at the end; not much. Good. asheft (1438), Marburg, Germany

Brown-bronze with a creamy, cream-coloured head that comes out thick, but thins out to a film after a little while. Caramel and a little fruity on the nose: strawberry and cream notes, weak aroma overall. Lagery flavour with nice crisp maltiness and more than noticeable noble hops with a touch of toasty caramel and more than a touch of nuts. Bitterness is low but not absent. Light to medium body with considerable carbonation. Adenila (957), Denmark

Aroma of different malts along with hay. The flavor is pretty smooth and well balanced, plesant malty sweetness along with some underlying acidic notes in the flavor, and a bitter finish cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Pours a beautiful golden-amber with a thin, coarse head. Woody aroma, consistent with the beech aging guaranteed by the seal I had to break before opening. Very pleasant body - malty sweetness balanced by a generous amount of hops, with woody, earthy undertones. Little to no aftertaste, but what is there is wet wood & hops. Body is unremarkable, with slightly high carbonation. I have tasted beers like this which have not succeeded in tasting as balanced and as pleasant, so I am impressed, overall. Nothing I would really buy again, though. probstk (1064), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

App.: medium copper, frothy off-white head.
Aroma: a little woody and earthy, smells tart, a touch of licorice or molasses, a bit of roasted malt.
Palate: medium body, some lively, effervescent carbonation.
Flav.: a bit of toffee, woody and earthy, a little roasted malt, molasses (barely). Toffee to finish. Dry.
Unremarkable.
