Nice orange ruddy pour. Great even off-white head with great lacing. Slowly diminishing. Has fresh linen and orange fruit wafts. Sharp and piquant. A dull, old pine flavor with slight cracker notes. Palate is weak.

Very pretty reddish copper colour. I was not too impressed with the aroma and flavour though and the beechwood (buchenholz) maturation didn’t seem to add anything. Disappointing palate.

500ml brown bottle. Orange beer, rocky foamy tan head composed of large bubbles. Sweet malt aroma and a light suggestion of floral hop. Intense malt flavour, slightly earthy.Dryish hops in the finish. Mild bitterness. A pleasant surprise.

Bottled (BB 06/2005)
Amber brown color with decent creamy brownish head, lace. Aroma has wood - maybe it is that beech - calvados and toffee. Woody hops in very altbier-like palate, good hoppy aftertaste. Caramel notes. (7/4/6/3/14 3.4)
Re-rate, bottle 4.9 % (BB 11/2005)
Amber-orange color, small tanned head. Woody nose. Malty, oaky flavor. Dry and slightly earthy aftertaste. (5/4/6/3/13 3.1)

Bottle. Moderate hops and malt aroma. Reddish-amber color with moderate fine head. Slightly sweet and roasted malt flavor with mild hops finish. The best beechwood aged beer I’ve had.
