cgreb (84), Marburg, Germany Jul 26, 2008 Bottle - Golden red beer. Light malty aroma. Indeed a little bit of wood aroma and flavour.
Mild bitterness.
armando629 (512), Budapest, Hungary Nov 27, 2008 Deep amber beer with a white lacing head. Interesting aroma with a touch of the cellar. Sourish yeast, caramel and some hop in the nose. The flavor contains the interesting touch too with the taste of the cask, sourish yeast, some caramel, dry finish. KyotoLefty (306), Kyoto, Japan Nov 3, 2008 500ml Bottle. Thin copper color, decent head. Very faint aroma of fruit with some amber malts and caramel. Flavor also very light, caramel, amber malts, a touch of cardboard. Decent hop bitterness in the finish, though. Rather thin and light. Not bad, really, but probably the least interesting German-made altbier I have tried to date. A disappointment. Actually, it got really boring by the end of 500 ml!
