The banana, clove, and spices dominate the aroma and flavor, but you still know this is a wheat beer. Make sense? A mostly cloudy appperance, similar to our lousy weekend weather in the Mid-Atlantic as of late. Has your basic Hefe look to it. Very smooth, nice soft carbonation, and extremeley drinkable. guzzler67 (1286), Hanover, Maryland, USA

Cloves and banana, typical of the style, in the aroma. Taste was nicely balanced, although not quite as smooth as some of the more highly rated hefe's. Nice touch of spices. Very refreshing. Good palate, rich and silky, very smooth. Banana flavors predominate, good spiciness. illinismitty (1800), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Draft at Arundel Mills at the X-mas in July party. Pours a pale hazy straw golden with a white head. Very nice banana ester aroma, with just a subtle hint of clove. Body and texture is tad light for my tastes, but it is not watery. Flavor is simple, pale wheat malts and banana, with a good amount of residual sweetness. Clean and refreshing finish. This is not overly complex, but still quite good for a summer beer. Hefe purists may have some things to say, but I don’t rate to style. I rate on how much I enjoy the beer, and this was good. Quetzalcoatl (153), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2004 Hazy yellow, light refreshing taste. The yeast and wheat come through, with a bit more spice & sweetness than in most Hefes. The first time I had tilted the mug of 13 degress, I was unsure. Then after the first one I decided to order another, then another. I found my self enjoying this beer more than I thought I would have. This beer ended up being a great tasting beer at the end of the first one. This is a great summertime beer. It is too bad that I drink them like water during the summer. The spicy banana texture is not too aggressive.
Great color as well. Great job. shameusburp (171), Virginia, USA

Not exactly one of my favorites at DuClaw, but then again I am a sweet stout kind of drinker. 13 Degrees was interesting to try and a good brew. A cloudy gloden brew with a strange fruity taste. Almost citrusy, but not quite. I guess it is the hints of clove that throw your palate off thinking it is a citrus flavor and the hints of banana give that strange fruit flavor you cannot quite pinpoint. A must try for your tongue to discover one of the flavors that beer can provide.
