Dark brown hue covered by a nice light brown ring. Coffeeish focused nose comprising pleasant oat chunks. Sweetish character reminds of brown sugar and cream. Nice oat presence in mouth, well integrated to the rest. Chocolatey and coffeeish in a grainy fashion. Not the most complex, but well brewed. meidum bodied, light carbonation.

At the 2005 RBSG. Black beer with a big foamy tan head. Nose of some oat based chocolate breakfast cereal. Lots of chocolate, with some espresso coffe and cocoa. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Nice chocolate beer.

Dark brown pour with a big tan head. Nose of roast and brown sugar. Really clean. Good example of the style. Toasted espresso, chocolate, sweet candy. Some molases. A little thin. Looks good, smells good, tastes good. It just isn’t great.

Sampled at the RBSG ‘05 bottle tasting courtesy of hopscotch: Pours a rich, nearly opaque, dark brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is semi-dry and roasty with some dark chocolate. Body is a tad thin for a sweet stout, but has nice balance and ease of drinkability with a smooth, light caramely malty sweetness. Finishes semi-dry and roasty.

Quality Oatmeal Stout. Would not rate it at the top of its class but can’t complain. Has a hint of chocolate and goes down smooth.

Draft @ bowie..body was dark, black, with creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate with tastes of the same. Also hints of coffee but not too overwhelming. One of my favorites from Du Claw.
