Black body, thin but creamy tan head that’s eaily restored by a quick swirl. Acidic, roasted barley aroma buffered by milk chocolate sweetness. Big rich mouthfeel, quite nice. Lots of acid in the flavor - tart black malt, lemon rind, coffee acidity all backgrounded by sweet milk chocolate / lactose. The sweetness is the punchiest part of the flavor. A big tasty Imperial Stout. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Dark motor oil pour... red tints. Nice creamy brown head. Light woody fruit with small roasted notes, chocolate, coffee. Roasted malt with espresso character, smooth sweet chocolate follows. Predominently sweet, but enough roasted malt to give it a good balance. A little thick and creamy, but still has a watery base to it. The commercial description is very good.... it is very smooth and drinkable. LePoopie (151), Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, USA

Black color w/ a nice small bubled dark tan head and a nice sticky lacing. Smells of lactose chocolate some light coffee notes, roasted malts, alcohol a touch light for an imperial. Full coated palate very creamy excellent mouthfeel feels almost silky while leaving a nice oily coating in my mouth. Flavor is definate chocolate, roast malts, light lactose, hitns of alcohol touch of oak w/ a hint of an earthiness to it. Overall I liked this beer a lot but a little bigger and a little more effervescent and it would be better. 1FastSTi (2569), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA

Very strong milk chocolate and espresso and grassy hops. The flavor is a very strong espresso and semi-sweet chocolate and bourbon. The beer pours to a viscous black body with a deep dark brown head. Coats the glass well. The palate is very thick and creamy. Medium-full body. Quite drinkable. Pailhead (2597), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Heavy roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee. Oily mouthful with big roasted malt, black coffee and semi-sweet chocolate flavor.
