The aroma was quite weak, almost unnoticeable, but did have a bit of berry and lemon. The flavor is predictably weak being a blonde, but the blueberry really comes through, much more than in the nose, a very fleshy flavor. Full and smooth body. kmweaver (2490), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Firkin @ Arundel Mills, Firkin Friday. Pours a murky, tarnished copper color; effervescent; thin, off-white head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of juicy oranges, orange juice, and pitty citrus fruits in the aroma; some candy sugar, with just a touch of blueberries; seemingly less overt fruit than the Strawberry Bare Ass Blonde. Lively carbonation, surprisingly. Medium mouthfeel: candy sugar, oranges, and basic core maltiness; again, slightly more fruit character than the standard version, but nothing that stands out as definitive blueberry notes (Pete got more blueberries out of this than I did); a solid, chewier version of the standard Blonde; tasty, satisfying. Medium finish: candy sugar, orange bitterness, and toasty malts.
