CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 17, 2009 Tap at Arundel Mills in Mar 2008: Pours a mostly opaque black with a thin, frothy covering of tan head. Mildly roasty dark malty nose has a hint of sweetness and some fresh grassy green hops. Body starts semi-sweet quickly drying out revealing some dark caramel and chocolate before a roasty dry finish. A nice dry stout, even better on nitro tap as Nitro Fury. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 14, 2009 Blackish in color with a dry roasty aroma. Flavor is full bodied with some dry roast, coffee, and light hops. Pretty good overall. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Mar 20, 2009 On Nitro at Bel Air. I was a little worried this would be a watery-bland Guiness clone, but I was pleasantly surprised. The body is a bit watery, but smooth and very very easy to drink. The flavor is quite impressive for its subtlety. Great roasted/nutty profile, flavor really shines and is clean, lasts throughout. Roasted coffee, but again, very clean and well put together. Flavors weren’t muddled or watery, they stood out. Drinkable and delicious for the style. May be the best irish style stout I’ve had yet. joeymacaroni (181), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2008 pours dark brown black. lots of roasted malty goodness. coffee, chocolate, pretty straightforward. a little thin. NomDeBeer (397), Maryland, USA Aug 4, 2008 Updated: Apr 8, 2009Draft @ Bel Air location in March 2008. Dry stout with a nice combination of hoppy bitterness and roasted malt sweetness. Notes of coffee, smoke, and chocolate. Nitro pour delivers silky mouthfeel, though it could have a bit more body. Still, very good. wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Apr 16, 2008 Black body, not much for head is formed. Aroma is dry smoke, slight metallic note. Flavor is dry, roasted bitterness. Nice full body. Parrothead (185), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 29, 2008 Ntro-pour at Belair location. Nice, thick tan creamy head over a dark, roasty dry stout with hints of coffee and chocolate. I really enjoyed thisone, maybe the best DuClaws brew I’ve had. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Mar 26, 2008 Draft @ Arundel Mills-Pours a black color w/a slight tan head. Coffee aroma. Kind of a standard stout, some coffee & roasted malt, a little chocolate; kind of a thin mouthfeel. Solid, but I wasn’t overwelmed by this one.
