a great coffee aroma leads this off...almost imperial in nature, but you can tell there is enough hop going on in the background from beggining to end of the flavor to understand why this is in the class it is. pours a deep cola brown with a big fizzy head on it. hints of vanilla and of lactose along with a healthy dose of chocolate, after taste is not cloying at all, but instead is lightly bitter, tailing away into light chocolate tones. possibly my favorite DuClaw offering ever.

Aug 4, 2008 Draft @ Bel Air location in March 2008. Dry stout with a nice combination of hoppy bitterness and roasted malt sweetness. Notes of coffee, smoke, and chocolate. Nitro pour delivers silky mouthfeel, though it could have a bit more body. Still, very good.

Apr 16, 2008 Black body, not much for head is formed. Aroma is dry smoke, slight metallic note. Flavor is dry, roasted bitterness. Nice full body.

Mar 29, 2008 Ntro-pour at Belair location. Nice, thick tan creamy head over a dark, roasty dry stout with hints of coffee and chocolate. I really enjoyed thisone, maybe the best DuClaws brew I’ve had.

Mar 26, 2008 Draft @ Arundel Mills-Pours a black color w/a slight tan head. Coffee aroma. Kind of a standard stout, some coffee & roasted malt, a little chocolate; kind of a thin mouthfeel. Solid, but I wasn’t overwelmed by this one.
