Commercial Description:
One sip of this medium bodied hoppy American brown ale and you will dedicate your soul to its pursuit. Sweet and rich malt flavor with notes of chocolate, caramel and nuts, are balanced by an equally intense hop presence, a citrusy aroma and a 5.5% abv. Blessed be this ale.

Draft @ Bel Air location July 2008. A very nice, hoppy brown ale. Well balanced with notes of pine hops, caramel sweetness, and ash-like malt. Reminds me of Hibernation Ale with less alcohol. Possibly the best brown ale I’ve had.

Double dry-hopped firkin @ Arundel Mills on Firkin Friday. Pours a murky, orange-brown color; thin, light-tan head with patchy lacing; some pulpy particulates. Very pleasant, orange-y citrus, resiny / juicy / zesty hop character in the aroma; some very soft brown sugar and caramel notes underneath; nothing sticky here. Relaxed carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: chewy / resiny oranges, solid zesty mineral / citrus hoppiness; pleasant, very soft malt core (brown sugar, caramel), very excellent and drinkable stuff. Nicely dry-hopped. Lengthy, softly bitter finish: chewy oranges, resiny citrus, some breadiness and caramel. Yum.

Deep brown pour with a hint of red a foamy off white head and lace. Deep brown sugar and caramel malt. Sweet caramel malt with a light bitter. Medium bodied with a bit of aggressive carbonation. Light medium bitter finish pretty solid.

[2368-20090801] Growler. Heavily toasted aroma has wood and bread notes along with mild bacon bits and mild apple fruit. Clear, golden amber body with a quick foamy light tan head. More toasted wood and bread grains in the flavour. Medium body. Quite good.

Hoppy, slightly fruity, balanced with sweet malts and hints of chocolate malt/roastiness. There was quite a bit going on in this beer for the quality. Different from other brown ales, but a good one.

Draft - Mills. Clear dark copper, creamy light tan head. Soft dusty milk chocolate and caramel almond aromas ride hints of toasted cherry cereal. Chocolate toast flavors balance on a touch of caramel nut and earth. A soft citric hop tone rounds this out well. Light bodied with light carbonation. A well done session brown...

From growler. Pours a clear light brown body with a reddish tinge and a slightly off-white fizzy head. Nutty, lightly roasty nose with some cocoa powder. The flavor is dry and nutty with a light grainy note, pretty well done for a Brown Ale. Light bitterness on the finish balances things out. Light to medium bodied with light soft carbonation. Overall pretty nice really.
