llgrgg (18), Baltimore, Maryland, USA May 16, 2005 Amber body, characteristics of orange with a a creamy white head. Aroma of florals, garden, earthy. Well balanced beer ending with a very sweet finish argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA May 15, 2005 (draft) Minimal beige head atop sparkling amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, some fruity, light grassy, alcohol, faint astringent. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some grassy, light alcohol, honey. Medium-full body, some stickiness. dolemike1 (1116), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA May 13, 2005 Clear, orange to amber, sweet, and malty aroma with notes of earth, flavor is sweet, malty, doughy, and toffee. chewy mouthfeel, yet slightly too sweet. hopscotch (5437), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 5, 2005 Draft... Clear, orange lager with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is malty and floral; notes of wet leather, sweat and marciano cherries with a rumor of mint. Malty and sugary flavor. Hops are an afterthought at best, but this is consistent with the style (which is too sweet for me). Medium-bodied and fizzy. Lightly sweet finish. Good craftsmanship, but maibocks just aren’t my thing. scraff (1921), Baltimore, Maryland, USA May 5, 2005 Lightly hazed orange, creamy off white head with great retention. After drooling over it for 20 minutes and letting it warm, the aromas finally played out. A very nice nose on this with wafts of peppery and earthy German hops, caramel and toffee, with a light breadiness, and hints of golden raisin. Extremely well balanced throughout with hops and malt living the good life. Medium to full bodied, pillow soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. A fantastic rendition of a classic Maibock.
