lamas (709), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA Oct 24, 2009 Draft at Bowie location. Came to the table a dark amber color with a small light-tan head. Standard lager aroma of sweet caramel with a touch of toasted malts. Equally standard flavor of sweet caramel upfront with some toasted graininess and a bit of nuttiness at the tail end. Thin to medium-bodied. Nothing else happening here. yobdoog (1420), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Oct 21, 2009 Copper color with a small head. Aroma is earthy, spice and a little nutty. Flavor is a bit brighter, aroma is mild. Flavor has more spice but is a bit dry and earthy for me. Ditto on wanting that Devils Milk. dmac (1418), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Oct 21, 2009 Growler at Moosetoberfest from richlikebeer, thanks for sharing Rich. Poured a reddish brown body with an average size creamy light beige head. Aroma of chocolate, spice, grains and citrus. Flavor of grain, rye, chocolate, orange citrus and spice. Solid but man I wish this was the usual growler of Devils Milk Rich normally brings. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 18, 2009 Clear copper color with no head. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, and bread. Flavor of toasted malts, caramel, and nuts. Decent. egajdzis (3598), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 18, 2009 Copper with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, and nuts. Taste of caramel malts, nuts, toast, and light brown sugar. illinismitty (1790), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Apr 5, 2009 Draft at Arundel Mills. Pours copper amber with a dissipating white off white head. Faint lagery aroma with some sweet bready notes. Lighter side of medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of toasted malts, caramel, wet grains, and a hint of cinnamon. Simple and clean finish. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Mar 28, 2009 I recall tasting this along side the spiced munich 31, and remembering how bland this was in comparison. Nothing much to write home about here, drinkable, but not a whole lot of flavor. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Feb 22, 2009 A reddish copper ale with no head. A pleasant caramel and fruity esters aroma, with light butterscotch and funky notes. In mouth, a murky malt with astringent notes, very light and a bit cloying. On tap at Duclaw Baltimore, Dec. 29 2008.
