Commercial Description:
Haunting the congregation with its distinct copper color and rich toasted malt flavor, this true German-style Oktoberfest lager is smooth in body and uses German hops in the brewing process to balance out the distinctive, toasted malt sweetness. The clean smoothness is created by the long conditioning (lagering) process of 8 weeks.

Very smooth and drinkable with earthy, hop flavors of grass, hay, and lemon dominatining along with some sweet caramel malt. Decent body for the style.

Draft at Fell’s Point. Poured amber color, small head, good lacing. Mildly spicy and crisp, clean finish. Good oktoberfest.

Arundel Mills location. Light auburn brown pour. Canned pineapple, nutmeg and brown sugar on the nose, with plenty of candy tones. Hints of allspice and creamy pistachio sweetness; lovely. Heavy banana sugar leads the flavor, especially bold in the sense of its rotted out flesh; baked pears and crisp spices in clove and dry gum on the back end. Warm honey and full malt structure beneath. Pleasant, understated, and distinctive. Slippery, and medium bodied in the mouth. An interesting and well-nuanced example.

Amber color with a slight tan head. Aroma is sweet and bready. Flavor is sweet up front with some wheatiness. I generally don’t care much for Oktoberfest beers, but this one I can handle.

Amber brown appearance. Malty aroma. Sweet malt caramel flavor. Hops don’t really make an appearnce in this one.

On Tap @ Arundel Mills-Poured a copper/amber color w/a slight tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Had some hops up front but not overly strong. Traces of roast caramel/toffee, almonds, spices, & a touch of wheat/grain. Very true to style, like a good Amber Ale. Very refreshing w/a crisp, clean finish. refreshing.

Bright red, barely brown. Small tan head. That sweet-toasty marzen aroma. A bit tart, underbittered, lightly sweet. Again with the soapiness in the flavor profile - don’t know if that’s a house flavor or a bad dishwasher. Move on, nothing to see here.
