Commercial Description:
Haunting the congregation with its distinct copper color and rich toasted malt flavor, this true German-style Oktoberfest lager is smooth in body and uses German hops in the brewing process to balance out the distinctive, toasted malt sweetness. The clean smoothness is created by the long conditioning (lagering) process of 8 weeks.

2004 batch. Served at Duclaw’s rollout party of 2004. Served in a ceramic pint complimentary glass. Color is dark amber, a true Octoberfest colored beer. Aromas are of sweet malts, slight toastiness, earthy hops. Balanced to a "tee". Maltiness is well balanced by the noble hops, and nothing stands out above anything else. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel lends itself to easy drinkability. Rich mouthfeel isn’t too thick, nor too thin, but just right. A first class Octoberfest beer from the gang at Duclaw’s. You owe it to yourself to get a couple of growlers to go, like I did, before it’s all gone.

Mild hops for an Oktoberfest, but a nice tangy character that makes it a truely enjoyable drink.

2004.This is a good fest.Very much like Dominion & Victory..If you like fests this is one of the better.Very smooth with enough fine noble hops to let you know this is the real deal. This one is perfectly balanced, and of a rich yet session like quality.Rich Amber color, really well done. This is the best brewer in MD!

Dark amber appearance with a fruity, floral aroma. Taste had a toasted malt flavor with a bit of nuttiness. Some sweetness, but not enough to be distracting. Smooth, finish with a small degree of spiciness.

Fest beer not my thing. Deep copper, no lacing. A bit fruity with only the small hints off toffee and caramel you would expect in a Marzen. Drinkable, but not Duclaw's best work. Seems like the masses really liked it though, so what do I know...

Nice steady 'fest bier. Pleasant enough to drink a liter, but slightly behind their other offerings. Slightly cloying finish.

This beer rocks. Handsome beer. Pristine copper hue. Medium sized, white, frothy head with good lacing. Very malty, slightly sweet. Lively carbonation. Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Finishes nice and fairly dry (for an Oktoberfest.
