Commercial Description:
The winner of Baltimore Magazine’s “Best Beer in Baltimore 1998.” We’d like to thank the smooth, roasted malt flavor. The mild hop presence. The little people.

On tap @ DuClaw Fells Point. Clear deep amber with an off white head. Biscuit, bready aroma with some nuttiness. Sweet malt base with touches of bitter and sour. Medium body. Pretty close to a brown, but good none the less.

Location: Draft at the Fells Point Brew Pub, 9/6/09

Aroma: Mostly got caramel in the nose, some bread
Appearance: Clear copper/caramel color, beige head
Flavor: Caramel and toasty malts and a light hoppiness as well
Palate: Medium body, decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This is a pretty decent amber. Overall it is a decent beer, but not outstanding beer. Could use more complexity, but its a decent drinkable brew.

Draft pours garnet in color with a a slight creamy head. Bread and slight glassiness in the aroma. Slightly thin body with a nice bit of flavor. A bit sweet and some caramel and little bitterness in the beginning comes through.

Tap at Arundel Mills in Mar 2008: Transparent amber copper with a wispy-lacing off-white head. Semi-sweet caramely malty nose has some toasted nutty notes. Body starts mildly sweet and toasty malty with a drier, more bitter finish. A decent amber ale and pretty true to style.

Reddish color with a malty, caramelish, light hop aroma. Flavor showcases some floral hops, caramel, and bread. Decent.

Sampled at the Arundel Mills location. Pours a clear brownish cranberry color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. The aroma is faint with notes of caramel and a finish of leafy hops. Taste is nuts, plum, caramel and very faint hops. Medium bodied.

An orange to red amber ale with a thin off white head. A light caramel and butterscotch aroma, with nice fruity esters. In mouth, a sweet malt with light British hops. Lighter bodied. On tap at Duclaw Baltimore, Dec. 29 2008.
