Amber mahogany, creamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Nose of toffee and roast, light metallic hop. The flavor is creamy and roasty, light body, finish is good. A bit metallic. Eh. nimbleprop (950), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 22, 2006 Darker color than other amber ales with a slim white head. Color is closer to a porter than an amber. The flavor is malty with slight hints of fruit. Very clean on the palate with a slightly bitter finish. This beer is missing something though and too subtle to be as touted as it was. aracauna (2422), Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Dark brown with red highlights. Caramel maltiness and some hops in the aroma. Lightly sweet and malty flavor. The flavor lingers. themadmumis (344), Westminster, Maryland, USA

Yeah, not like a Killian’s but quite a distinctive Amber Ale with a relatively full body. The second best staple beer DuClaw offers (behind Venom), Misfit Red is a superb American Brew that represents a well rounded palate. Great choice for people who are starting to try something else besides macros. MrAndo (39), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 8, 2006 On Tap at DuClaw, a very red beer in the look and taste. the beer has a noice hop and malt balence, and is definetly my favorite of the non sesonal DuClaw beers. A little bit of a bitter taste at the end, not from the hops, it is just there, can’t really explain it. thehipone (197), Australia
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 5, 2006 It is amber. Flavor of lightly roasted malt, little-no flavor hops, light, clean bitter finish. Nothing too challenging, probably the choice for those who want something a little more complex than the kangaroo. bu11zeye (5672), Frisco, Texas, USA
