I am sure there are others that are a little better, but I liked this amber a lot! Very dark amber, lots of character. Aroma was sweet and taste was mild with a bit of a kick. Quite good! If I could find fault with this brew, it would be the color, and I’m being picky here. It was a little darker than I figure an amber ale should be, and it wasn’t really "red". But oh boy, was it smooth! lamas (728), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2005 On tap at Arundel Mills location. Appearance was a deep ruby red with virtually no head. Aroma was pretty balanced and of strawberries. Taste was also very well-balanced with a hint of tangy strawberries. Slightly more malty than hoppy. A little roasty. Just a little bit of hops in the finish. On the thin side. bma4573 (136), Mechanicsville, Maryland, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Draught in Fells Point: This one pours a dark, ruby tinged amber color. There was a small off-white head on it. This one has a milder aroma. Some malt sweetness, but no real hop notes at all. The taste is good. I can detect faint roastiness and faint fruits. It has a well balanced medium body, with the taste being neither sweet or bitter. A nice session beer. willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
