That said, it delivered on the flavor. It tasted just like a chocolate raspberry cake. Not very bitter or roasted, smooth. Almost a tad watery, flavor does not persist. joeymacaroni (241), Wagontown, Pennsylvania, USA

Strong dose of of raspberry and coffee plus bitter, roasted malt notes underneath. Nitro pour is velvety smooth. Not much chocolate flavor. Could have a fuller body, but still a very good beer. ruinah (5), , Maryland, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 21, 2008 This beer is made with coffe from California. It’s a Chocolate Raspberry coffee which they get in specifically for this beer. Upon visiting the brewery I sampled the coffee and it really lends a great impression to the beer. It starts off a bit dry and pours with a great amount of head. The stout doesn’t have a lot of aroma per say but combining a roast character and the coffee make for a terriffic beer. I can easily drink a growler of this in a sitting and go back for more. elihapa (1072), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 2, 2008 2/26/08 notes: from Growler. Aroma is of strong milk chocolate, cherry liquor, and raspberries. Pours a dark brown, settles a brown-black with two fingers of head. Palate is a little thin, and features toasty notes of cherry/raspberry syrup, chocolate, and cream. Flavor is fairly “shallow”, in the sense that it doesn’t linger; as this beer sits, it develops a slightly smoky flavor that is adds complexity. Overall, I found this an interesting beer. Also, rather ambiguous style: not thick, roasty or alcohol, and no real trace of malts or hops in flavor. I can see why ratebeer calls this a spice beer.
